I have to confess that this year , I too have become addicted to the Twilight series . New Moon has been my favorite one thus far . I can not wait for the movie ! I love both Jacob and Edward ( I guess I am like Bella LOL )
However , I am a bit disappointed . You see , one of my friends pointed out to me another series , that is too similar to the Twilight series . I have been borrowing her books called the Night World series by L. J. Smith . Now mind you , these books came out in the late '90s . It sure looks like Stephanie Meyer took some of the settings , same name of characters and even some of the same plots from these books . These too are good books . I still love the Twilight series but am very sad that they are not looking too original anymore . Read the Night World books and see what you think .

Ideas for Halloween

I love Fall ! Everything about it makes me happy . All the colors , the smells, the crispy cool air , children laughing as they play in the leaves and Halloween . Most would look at me funny for the last . I know most think that it a bad holiday and evil but to me it holds some very fond childhood memories . It was a time for family fun when I was growing up ... nothing evil . I have been continuing that on with my kids . We go to the Pumpkin Patch , pick out our pumpkins and cut them from the ground and take them home . Plan for cut little costumes at least 2 months before . And buy lots of candy ! Halloween is a big thing in here in Morenci . It is still old fashion fun . It reminds me of the old TV shows of kids trick or treating .

Today I was looking at a new cooking magazine I get every month and come across some very cute recipes for Halloween . To find them you can go to www.kraftfood.com and type in Halloween in the search box . Very fun stuff ! Try them out this year and let me know how they turn out .

Goodbye Summer

Another summer has come and gone . Hard to beleive ! It has been a summer full of surprises ! I went to Texas for my Papa's 90 Birthday party in May and then off to see an old friend in Oklahoma City .Came home to deal with a huge battle of depression . Over coming that now .
In June , Rob went to Florida to be with his Dad for recovery from surgery . Glad all went well .The boys and I stayed here because flight tickets for 4 was way too much !
July we all ( Mom included ) went to Colorado to bury Dad's ashes . It was great to see my Aunt and Uncle , just wish it had been for diffrent reasons . Pagosa has changed ALOT !
The first part of Aug . Lucas begaan school . Hard to beleive that one too ! He loves it and is doing well . The Dr put him on a new med and his ADHD is under control .
This is a sum of the summer in a nutshell . I am ready for the Fall and hope and pray it will be better then the summer of 2009 has been .

Road trip

On May 14th me , mom and the boys took off on a road trip to TX and OK. It was along two days drive to Paris , TX but the boys did great !
We went for my Papa's 90th Birthday . It was more a family reunion . I was happy to show Lucas that he does have cousins . And happy to see cousins I had not seen in a while .
One of my Mom's friends from Farmington came down for the party . It was great to see her too . We decided to go up to Oklahoma City with her after the party . We had a blast ! She lives on 10 acres in the country . Wow ... talk about relaxing ! The boys went fishing and played with the dogs and goats .I loved going out and watching Eagles fly over every morning . I could really get used to life there !
Rob did not get to go with us because of his job . With the big lay offs that took place , they are VERY short handed so no vacation time right now . We sure missed him ! we had a great time but sure is good to be back home with Rob !

Where Is All That Going ?????

I think Jeremy is fixing to go into a BIG growing time . Today he ate 2 eggs for breakfast and still wanted more ! I asked him what he wanted , of coarse M&Ms . We agreed on a scoop of sugar free ice cream . That still wasn't enough ! He wanted a sugar free fudge cycle . Then he wanted a bowel of Cheerios . I finally made him a trail mix with mixed nuts , Cheerios and M&Ms . ( It is really good ) . Now he is down for a long nap . I just dread seeing it all again later in his diaper . EWWWW !LOL
I am sure he is going to be a big Football player someday ;)

Great Album

I love Taylor swifts Album " Fearless " . I can relate to ever song on it ! It is like going back in time and seeing things I have been through . It is kind of scary .
I love this video , it is a tear jerker and yes ... I have been there too . Thank God my " prince " finally did come and take me away . There was one however , that did take his white horse and go his own way but I M SO Thankful for the one that took me with him .

Growing up

Well , I got Lucas registered for Kindergarten . I can not believe he is old enough ! He is so excited . School starts Aug . 13 and he will have all day kindergarten .
He had to take some tests while registering . I did not know how he would do . I thought he was pretty smart but maybe that thinking was just a Mom thing . He passed all the test with high scores ! The only thing he needs help with is holding a pencil the right way . We can work on that .
The sad thing is with all the lay offs here , they only had 3 others registered . Hopefully there will be more by time school starts . If not , I guess Lucas will get alot of attention . :)

Still Here

It has been awhile since my last post . Things here have been very busy ! Spring Cleaning , going to Tucson for a break , getting a new puppy and dealing with Lucas' ADHD meltdowns ( the are getting better but somedays , oh my !!!! )

I am hoping things start slowing down a bit . I am ready for a vacation !

The Wall

Monday I took Lucas in for his yearly check up. While waiting for the Dr to come in ,I showed Lucas the chart on the wall that showed our insides . I showed him the stomach , Liver , Small intestines , gall bladder and Pancress . He was in awe ! He loves medical things .
Today he came in and asked me if he had a liver . i said yes . He then asked if he had a pancress. I said yes . He pionted to where his is and asked " Is that a wall ? "
I asked him " What do you mean ? " He said " My pancress . Is it a wall for Jesus to stay in my heart ? He lives there now and I want him to stay there ."

Sat. Project

This past Sat . was kids project day at Home Depot . They do this the first Sat . of every month . The boys love it ! This week they made race tracks . Very cool ! But was very glad Rob came along . It was a little tough . It really did take an Engineer to put it together . LOL

The Man To Watch

I was very impressed with President Obama's speech last night . I enjoyed the stories that he shared about some of the American people . I also thought it was awesome that those with the stories he used , where there sitting together . I also found it impressive that he went through the crowd signing programs .
However , I was even more impressed with the speech made by Gov. Jindal . I was wondering why they had chose him . Well, he is very smart , the youngest Gov. , from LA and planning on running in the next Presidental Election .
I am telling you ... he is the man to watch in the coming years . I think we are going to see many changes coming and he will be one that helps make this changes .
We are seeing history being made before our eyes and many things about to be unfolded . This are interesting times and I am enjoying watching them take place . The world is changing as we know it .

Christmas Shopping .... Already !

This year I have a goal to get all my Christmas shopping done early . So , I have been hitting up clearance sales and stores going out of business . Sounds crazy , I know . But you should see all the good deals I have got ! I hit up K B Toys while I was in Phoenix and bought the boys alot of stuff . I am almost done with there shopping ! I think we spent $ 40 and walked out worth what would have been $300 or so worth of toys . Then I found this cute knee high dinosaur that is remote control at wal-mart . It was $ 179 but i got it for $60 .I have been hitting up Bidz.com and got my mother-in -law some nice things ( for $48 , the actaul price would have been $800 ) And I have got my sister-in-laws some awesome things too ! I think I have got a great start and I am already have way done !
It is goiong to be nice not to have to stress about crowds , money and getting things in the mail on time this year .
we'll see if I can complete my goal ! Wish me luck ! I will keep everyone updated.

Weekend Project

Sat. morning we got up and decided to go to Home Depot . I wanted to look for a stove ( yes , I still have not bought one since mine went out ) However , we decided to wait and see if we could find one here in Morenci , since so many people are moving out .
While walking through , we found that the store was having a craft time for kids . We signed the boys up ! They made the cutest little trinket boxes , perfect for Nana's Valentine !
We found out that on the first Sat . of every month , they have a craft time for kids . So , we are going to try to do this when they have it ! It is a great way to spend time with the kidos !

Birthday

Last Tuesday ( Feb 3 ) was my Birthday . I have to say it turned out to be a wonderful day . First off , Rob did not get layed off !! That right there was a wonderful gift !
I thought Rob had forgot that it was my Birthday . But he surprised me when he got off of work . He come home got me and the boys and took us out for dinner . He then stopped at the only grocery store here and made me wait in the car . I knew he was up to something ! Sure enough ... he came out with a bouquet of Mums , a card and one of the prettiest cakes I have seen around here .

I WILL RISE

It has been 8 months since my dad passed on from having Emphysema . I miss him very much but I am glad he is no longer suffering .
I heard this sound and it made me think of him . I thought this is his song ! I told Rob we had to do it . It is called " I Will Rise "by Chris Tomlin . Hope you enjoy it . ( sorry I was crying ).
It is also for those going through tough times . Hang in there !

What To Do ?

Many people do not know what all I have to deal with ,having a child with ADHD . It is not only him being hyper but there are ALOT of meltdowns . I am wanting to crawl in a a cave and hide out right now . It seems Lucas is having a major meltdown everyday latey . Today has been one of the worst . I have got a major cold . But I thought I would go ahead and clean up his room . At first he thought that was great . Then ..... He got mad about it . Started sceaming , that he wanted it to be dirty . I just kept on cleaning . I had to walk out and check on Jeremy . I came back in to find that Lucas had dumped all his toys and books in the middle of the floor ! I am sooooo ticked ! I gave him time out and told him to clean it all up . All I can do is cry . I hate this !! I just wish he was normal !
And now he just came to my room , smiling and said " I am not feeling well " . He does not understand that what he did was wrong ! Or he does not care ! It seems that nothing is working . He has every kind of test done . He is on meds and have tried different ones . I just have to press on and deal with this . And remember " I can do all things that Christ strenghens me "
